Biography

Thesis Advisor: Lauren Crawford/Bio Statistics

Emily's research interests are variable selection in nonlinear, nonparametric models and development of methods combining topology and statistics. Currently, she is working on a transparent, data-driven algorithm to generate new shapes from a shape data set by leveraging alpha-shapes. She has applied her research to genomics, cellular biology, biomedical data, morphology, data science, and machine learning. Outside of math, you'll find her training in the gym, cheering on a Boston sports team, or playing with her adorable pug, Yoshi.
