John Mallet-Paret
Office Hours: By appointment only (email)
Biography
Ph.D., University of Minnesota, 1974
Interests
Professor Mallet-Paret studies ordinary and functional differential equations, specifically dynamical systems; differential–delay, lattice, and reaction–diffusion equations, as well as singular perturbations, pattern formation, and bifurcation theory. Current topics include:
- Traveling waves in lattice differential equations with spatial variations
- Superexponential solutions in cyclic systems of delay-differential equations
- Skew-product flows for linear functional differential equations
- Differential delay equations and biological applications
- Max-plus operators
