Biography

Leah is a Ph.D. student in Applied Mathematics with an M.S. in Mathematics from California Polytechnic State University (SLO). Her research interests lie at the intersection of math, physical oceanography, fluid dynamics, and social and environmental justice. She is currently working on machine learning emulators for the Ocean State Ocean Model as well as studying the mathematical properties of intersectional diversity metrics. Outside of research, she enjoys rock climbing, hiking, reading, board games, and any activity that lets her be near the water.
