Applied Mathematics

Yifeng Mao is an Applied Math + X Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Division of Applied Mathematics at Brown University. Previously, she was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego. She received her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2023. Her research focuses on nonlinear waves in geophysical and astrophysical fluid dynamics, using asymptotic methods, numerical simulations, and fluid laboratory experiments. She was also a Woods Hole Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Fellow in 2023.
